Electric Griddle Crepe Maker

Blackstone Electric Griddle: The Best Electric Griddles on the Market

Cooking brunch at home can be a challenge, especially if there are several people to feed at the same time. A trip to the diner might sound like a better option than attempting to make breakfast for groggy children or, even worse, for adults who haven’t had their coffee yet because of the thought of having to juggle multiple pans on top of a limited amount of space on the stovetop and in the oven can be pretty daunting. However, this comes with several drawbacks, including the requirement that you change out of your pajamas, leave the house, engage in conversation with other individuals, possibly stand in a line, and pay a sizeable sum of money for the food that you could have easily made yourself and which would have been of much higher quality. It’s a difficult choice to make.

01. Presto 07073 Electric Tilt-N-fold Griddle

Two of our favorite types of electric grills are made by Presto. The Presto Electric Tilt-n-Fold Griddle has a very straightforward installation and operation process. Its space-saving design makes it very easy to store away when it’s not used in the kitchen cabinets. It has a large, nonstick, smooth cooking surface and heats up mostly evenly. Additionally, it can be tilted to drain grease and is simple to clean. Even if you don’t turn your kitchen into an IHOP every weekend, you won’t be upset about dropping a bunch of loot on an appliance that you don’t use that often (yes, bread maker, we’re talking to you). The Tilt-n-Fold costs a little under $50, so even if you’re not turning your kitchen into IHOP every weekend, you won’t be upset about dropping a bunch of loot on an appliance you don.’

Features

  • Great for every meal: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Easily adjusts from a level cooking surface for eggs and pancakes to a tilted surface for meats
  • Legs fold in and drip tray locks in place for easy, compact storage. Heavy cast aluminum base with large 254-square-inch cooking surface
  • Premium nonstick surface ensures stick-free cooking and easy cleaning. Control Master heat control automatically maintains the desired cooking temperature
  • Slide-out drip tray empties easily. Easy to clean. Fully immersible with the heat control removed
  • Tilt to drain. Flip down the levers to tilt the grilling surface when cooking meats. Fold to store. Fits in most standard 18-inch kitchen cabinets.

02. Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle With Removable Handles

Stella adores the 22-Inch Electric Griddle that Presto offers, and now it’s even more budget-friendly! This nonstick surface has a textured crosshatch pattern that helps keep pancakes from sliding around and eluding your spatula when you’re trying to flip them. It’s a lightweight model with fully detachable handles that make cleaning and storing it a breeze; it will easily slot into the cabinet with all of your baking sheets and cooling racks, and it comes with fully detachable handles cleaning and storing it a breeze.

The disadvantage of this feature in the design is that it makes it more difficult to clean the grease produced when cooking fatty foods like bacon. In addition, if the grill does not have a mechanism for tilting, the grease will collect in the center of the surface rather than in the drip tray. Because of this, this is an excellent alternative for people who prefer to indulge in sweets during brunch but do not require the use of a grill to prepare breakfast meats.

Features

  • Premium nonstick surface provides stick-free cooking and easy cleaning. Slide-out drip tray removes and cleans easily.
  • Control Master heat control maintains the desired cooking temperature automatically. Heavy cast aluminum base is virtually warp-proof.
  • Griddle is fully immersible with the heat control removed.
  • Simply open latch clips to detach handles from griddle base. No tools needed.
  • With handles removed, base stores in most standard 18-inch kitchen cabinets.Cooking area: 231 square inch.

03. Broil King PCG-10 Professional Portable Nonstick Griddle

The Broil King Portable Nonstick Griddle was the best-performing electric skillet we tested to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the cooking process and produce batches of pancakes with a golden brown exterior. The legs of the Broil King can be adjusted to pitch the cooking surface, similar to the Tilt-n-Fold. This helps fat drain into the grease trap equipped by the Broil King. This model is approximately twice as expensive as the Tilt-n-Fold, and it has a more cumbersome design that makes it difficult to store vertically in a cabinet due to its larger size. It comes with a removable backsplash made of stainless steel, which is a good idea (minimizing grease splatter and providing a backstop to help flip food with a spatula). Still, due to its flimsy construction, it is more of an annoyance than a feature that stands out.

Features

  • NEW environmentally friendly non-stick with non-stick coating
  • Removable stainless-steel backsplash; rear legs help facilitate grease run-off.
  • Adjustable heat up to 400 degrees F; cool-touch stainless-steel handles.
  • Removable grease tray; immersible base with temperature probe removed.
  • Unit Dimensions: W:29”x D:12.5”x H:5.5″. Cooking surface dimensions: 21″x12″
  • NEW environmentally friendly non-stick with non-stick coating.
  • Removable stainless-steel backsplash; rear legs help facilitate grease run-off.

04. Lodge Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Reversible Grill/Griddle With Handles

Although this review focuses on electric grills, it is important to note that some people may feel more comfortable purchasing a cast iron skillet that can be used on a stovetop instead. A large cast iron cooking surface, such as the Reversible Cast Iron Stovetop Griddle from Lodge, can give you plenty of real estate for larger batches of food while allowing you to decide just how scorching you want it to be. Our testing revealed that electric grills do not get hot enough to sear burgers or meats properly, so we recommend using a large cast iron cooking surface instead.

Features

  • 20 x 10.5 cooking area
  • Use on all cooking surfaces, grills and campfires
  • Oven safe
  • Sauté, sear, fry, bake and stir fry to heart’s content
  • Included Components: Cast Iron Grill/Griddle
  • Item Shape: Rectangular.

05. Presto 07073 Electric Tilt-N-fold Griddle

What we liked: The Presto Tilt-n-Fold is an excellent option to consider purchasing if you are in the market for a reliable electric grill that will assist you in elevating your brunch game. It has a solid cooking performance, the most extensive cooking surface area (254 square inches), and adjustable legs for easy grease runoff. It is our number one pick out of our top three models. In addition, it is simple to clean and put away, costing approximately $70. (at the time of publication). That is a fantastic deal for a piece of equipment that the vast majority of people will probably only use once or twice per week at most.

The Tilt-n-Fold griddle has a cold spot in the center of the cooking surface, meaning that one of every nine pancakes will be paler than the others. This was one of the things that we did not like about it (or take the hint and only cook eight pancakes per batch). Even though it’s not the best scenario, we’re not going to let that derail the deal. Even though the Tilt-n-Fold griddle’s legs fold up for storage, it still occupies significantly more space than the similarly sized and priced Presto 22-inch grill (see below). After a couple of rounds of cooking bacon and burgers, the faux stainless steel border on the sides of the grill quickly became stained with grease. Even after extensive scrubbing, we were unable to remove the stains, and we did not want to take the chance of removing the coating in the process.

06. Presto 07061 22-inch Electric Griddle With Removable Handles

What we liked: The Presto 22-Inch Electric Griddle still delivers good griddling performance despite its affordable price tag, compact storage footprint, and user-friendly design. You won’t find a lot that compares to it in this regard. While the textured grid-like nonstick surface prevents pancakes from scooting around too much while cooking, the removable handles make it easy to clean and store in kitchen cabinets. Stella isn’t the type of person to give endorsements lightly, and there are many things about this grill that she adores.

The cooking surface may be wonderful for pancakes but not so wonderful for greasy bacon. This was one of the things that we did not like about the product. Because the grill does not have a mechanism that allows it to tilt, grease collects in the middle of the surface, which makes the drip tray somewhat ineffective. Even after washing it with soapy water, the textured surface makes it more difficult to remove greasy residue left behind on the cooktop.

Features

  • Premium nonstick surface provides stick-free cooking and easy cleaning. Slide-out drip tray removes and cleans easily.
  • Control Master heat control maintains the desired cooking temperature automatically. Heavy cast aluminum base is virtually warp-proof.
  • Griddle is fully immersible with the heat control removed.
  • Simply open latch clips to detach handles from griddle base. No tools needed.
  • With handles removed, base stores in most standard 18-inch kitchen cabinets.Cooking area: 231 square inch.

07. Broil King PCG-10 Professional Portable Nonstick Griddle

The Broil King Professional Portable Nonstick Griddle had the most evenly heated cooking surface of the grills we tested, resulting in the most evenly browned pancakes. This was one of the things that impressed us about this grill. The Broil King, much like the Presto Tilt-n-Fold, has legs that can be adjusted to change the angle at which the cooking surface is positioned. This allows grease to drip down into a tray that can be removed.

The Broil King is nearly twice as expensive as the Presto Tilt-n-Fold, and even though it heats more evenly, we do not believe its performance is proportionally superior to that of the Tilt-n-Fold. This was one of the things that we did not like about it. The removable stainless steel backsplash is a good idea, but it is poorly executed because it is too flimsy and bends after only a few uses. In addition, it does not fit securely onto the grill, which caused it to scratch the nonstick coating. Because it has handles, the Broil King is bulkier and more difficult to store vertically in a cabinet than either of the Presto models. Neither of the Presto models has been handled.

Features

  • NEW environmentally friendly non-stick with non-stick coating
  • Removable stainless-steel backsplash; rear legs help facilitate grease run-off.
  • Adjustable heat up to 400 degrees F; cool-touch stainless-steel handles.
  • Removable grease tray; immersible base with temperature probe removed.
  • Unit Dimensions: W:29”x D:12.5”x H:5.5″. Cooking surface dimensions: 21″x12″

08. Lodge Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Reversible Grill/Griddle With Handles

What we liked best: If you want to griddle things like pancakes, bacon, eggs, and other similar foods, any electric grills recommended in this article will get the job done. But electric models won’t do the trick if you want to get a good crust on burgers for a crowd (or steaks, or chicken, or vegetables, or, or, or…) because they don’t get hot enough. If you have any hopes of accomplishing this, you should look elsewhere. Instead, it would help if you thought about getting a grill that can be used on top of a stove, such as this one from Lodge, that fits over two burners. (Although it is quite a bit more expensive, the Baking Steel Griddle is a product that we adore using.)

The Lodge Reversible Cast Iron Stovetop Griddle is reversible, with a ridged grill surface on one side and a flat griddle on the other. This feature was not something that we liked about the product. The faux grill surface is not something that appeals to us because it does not provide any of the benefits of grilling (apart from the aesthetics of grill marks), and it also does not provide any of the benefits of a grill (namely, a flat surface for maximum sear and, therefore, flavor). However, even if you never use the grilling side, the entire thing is still a good deal overall.

Features

  • 20 x 10.5 cooking area
  • Use on all cooking surfaces, grills and campfires
  • Oven safe
  • Sauté, sear, fry, bake and stir fry to heart’s content
  • Included Components: Cast Iron Grill/Griddle
  • Item Shape: Rectangular.
